Women’s college golf in North Carolina is full of talent, with 18 programs across different divisions competing at a high level. As the season begins, we want to introduce you to some of the local teams making an impact in the Raleigh area and beyond. These athletes put in the hard work, and we’re excited to follow their journey, celebrate their achievements, and cheer them on throughout the year!
NC State Wolfpack (Raleigh, NC)
The NC State Women’s Golf Team is a powerhouse in the ACC, consistently proving themselves on a national stage. Their first tournament of the season will be at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida. Head Coach Darby Sligh continues to lead the team with a strategic approach, pushing them to excel. UNC Tar Heels (Chapel Hill, NC)
Just down the road, the UNC Women’s Golf Team is another dominant force in collegiate golf. They will begin their season at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Led by Head Coach Aimee Neff, the Tar Heels focus on precision and strategy, making them strong contenders in major tournaments. Wishing them the best as they take on tough competition! Duke Blue Devils (Durham, NC)
A national powerhouse, the Duke Women’s Golf Team has built a reputation for excellence, with multiple NCAA championships under their belt. Their season starts at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in California. Under the leadership of Head Coach Dan Brooks, the Blue Devils are expected to be in the mix for more titles this season. Campbell University Fighting Camels (Buies Creek, NC)
Campbell University might be a smaller program compared to some ACC schools, but they are a mighty force in the Big South Conference. They kick off their season at the Sea Best Invitational in Florida. Head Coach John Crooks has been instrumental in developing a competitive and resilient team. The ECU Women’s Golf Team is always on the rise, bringing passion and energy to the course. They will open their season at the FAU Paradise Invitational in Florida. Elon’s Women’s Golf Team is making waves in the Colonial Athletic Association, with steady improvements each year. Their season begins at the Oyster Shuck Match Play in South Carolina.
